Dr. Simon Vancliff is a Senior Professional and a Registered Valuer from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (“MRICS”). He is fluent in Vietnamese, with over 15 years’ experience in large projects across all sectors within Asia.
For the past three years until the present, apart from managing large scale projects, he is the Vice Chairman for the Real Estate & Construction Pillar of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, and works side-by-side with the BOD (Board of Directors) and the Cambodian Government to support the MOU’s in place among these parties. In this role, Simon provides recommendations to the Government on proposed changes to their regulations and laws as well as overseeing the implementation of these changes. His extensive experience makes him suitably qualified to serve as a Judge on the Panel for the Cambodia Property Awards.
Previously, Simon spent seven years as an Investment, Development and Projects Director for both ING Holding and Daun Penh Cambodia Group, leading several projects that ranged in size from 11ha to 50,000ha. In this capacity, he managed over 2,000 employees around the world, increased the value of land holdings by $15 billion USD, and in 2018 generated $400 million in net profit due to strategic land transactions and land swaps, including the AEON Mall 3 transaction.
Currently Simon has been honored to be involved in the SEA Games 2023 project, wherein he is the CEO of the company tasked with building a Sports City to accommodate over 7,500 athletes during the SEA Games, and then be handed over to the buyers to become the first and largest Sports City in South East Asia.
After obtaining his B.S. (Hons.) Business Administration at the London School of Economics, Simon obtained his MBA at the Open University of London. He then majored in a DBA at the Open University in London, prior to securing a Certificate of Advanced Valuations at Oxford Brookes University, where inline he then went on to obtain MRICS qualification before acquiring his Project Management Professional (“PMP”) certification in 2020.
During his time in Cambodia, he has received several certificates and medals from the King and Prime Minister in recognition of his works in the development of Cambodia.
